[two_third] General purpose containers (also known as standard containers and dry cargo containers) are the most common type of freight container and are available in a range of sizes the most popular being 20’ or 40’ containers. These containers are closed containers i.e. they are closed on all sides, but a distinction may be drawn between the following types of general purpose containers:
Standard container with doors at one or both end(s)
Standard containers with doors at one or both end(s) and doors over the entire length of one or both sides
Standard containers with doors at one or both end(s) and doors on one or both sides
In addition to the common 20’ / 40’ containers, general purpose containers are also available in the following sizes: 8’, 10’ and 45’ although the container sizes smaller than 20’ are seldom used for the transportation of freight. [/two_third]
